why is it that couples do not have more children compared to couples 30 years ago?

b/c now they don't need children on the farm, they need children to be in school and school is very expensive.

Thats not true in a way i know two diff. families the first has 11 goin on 12 kids and the 2nd has 13 goin on 14 maybe 15 kids. Its more uncommon for families to have big family's because they are more worried about mortgages, car payments, college etc. There are still familys that have alot of children but not to often you find it..

People want more for themselves and family. Cost is big factor in most cases.Clothing ,food, housing , education,all cost a great deal.couples are geting married later in life as well,so time could be an issue as well.
