The PDf in question would have to be made to accept text entry. IRS forms, for example, have this capability. Not every PDF does. It's up to the creator of it to determine this.

I use a program called SOLID PDF CONVERTER.
This basically reads in a PDF file and outputs it as a formatted text file.
You can then type anywhere you'd like to in the document.

For PDF files not formated to accept text input you would have to have Adobe Acrobat Pro. Adobe Acrobat Reader is only a file reader.

the only way you can edit or add info to a .pdf file is if you have the adobe write program installed on your computer.

adobe reader is free (ie to read .pdf files), but adobe write costs money.
If you don't have it, you will have to download and print off the form and fill it in.
you can then scan it back into your computer and send it off that way - or fax or mail it.

If it was set up for that by the creator of the document, or if you have the professional version of Acrobat (which is used to create documents of this type).
