i have bright red and am wanting to streak my hair myself, but i'm not sure how to do it.i'm wanting to put one big chunky streak at the front but i'm worried that if i try it the black will run into the red or the two colours will react and it'll change colours.

there are no black streaking kits around so i have to use normal hair dye!

It would be better if you went to a salon to do this. If not what you can do is get some foil, the dye you choose and a hair color brush. They should sell that at Sally's Beauty Supply. Get the hair you want to dye and place it on top of a piece of foil and put the dye on with the color brush then fold the foil starting with each side and then the end. (it should be a rectangle) This is the best way to make sure you get all the hair including the hair close to your scalp. This is hard to explain if you have never seen it done.
Really, go to the salon...good luck!

put a plastic bag on your head and cut a hole in the top, put your hair that you want died through the hole. won't bleed or make worse. good luck....holly
p.s. let me know how it turns out!
