Wow! you too. You really do need to seek professional help. You will need to be evaluated so that you can be directed into what treatment would benefit you the most; as well as rule out any medical conditions that could cause you to over-eat. You may then be directed into over-eater groups in your area; many people have found these helpful. Hope this helps.

I have struggled most of my life with this issue as well - still struggling... what I have admitted to myself is that I have a highly addictive nature... I also know I eat for the same reasons someone gets drunk or high... while I am eating, I am not in emotional pain... I tapped into food to deaden my pains and now that I have dealt with my issues and minimized my pains, the fat and cravings are still there so now I just eat because I am addicted... I have tried almost every program out there and while I have achieved some success, I have been over 200 lbs. for almost 35 years...I have very recently come to the conclusion that treating my eating as an addiction is probably my only chance at lasting success
there are food detox centers but I could never afford them (like Duke University) and stuff like bariatric operations and lap bands are not always the answer either because while you may lose the weight, unless you change the way you look at food, those options will not guarantee success

Need out find out why--what are you trying to fill that's missing that you are attempting to fill with food. Therapy may do you a world of good for its where you find those type of answers >its not food you want but you are using as a substitute for pleasure, having fulfillment and so on. You can either ask around or call and make a appointment with a Nutritionist first to get a Eating Plan and then you can get a referral. Often these type of Therapists have evening and weekend hours and also do Group Therapy-people with very similar issues for it is comforting to see other people have th problem too and find ways how other people cope that you can try and use.

I have the same issue. I tried OA, didnt really like it,,but maybe i didnt give it enough of a chance. Also went to a nutritionist,,didnt help either as it was common sense what she told me,,,but when the time comes,,common sense doesnt really matter in that moment. It is not easy to just "stop" doing it like someone up there suggested...they just don't understand and probably only want the 2 pts. Therapy hasnt worked for me yet either. But i won't give up.... Maybe an anti-depressant would help, not sure tho. I will watch this question just to see what is suggested.
hope u dont give up either.

You know, there is an organization called Overeaters Anonymous which operates on the same kind of support system that has helped many persons with drug, gambling etc..problems. It's a phone call away. It's a support network... not just words on a screen from people you will never know. Get real. And, I completely empathize.

Stop eating!
No no, in all seriousness you have to take control.
People always look to the outside world for answers. You know what the answer is but just dont care enough to do anything about it. Majority of people are like this in todays society.
Be different....do what you need to without drugs.

if you're a compulsive eater...then eat fruits and vegetables ...but the problem is much deeper..that's what makes us compulsive..you'll have to find a solution to your problem in order to stop it by eating..and by that you'll have to talk to a professional...which I'm not

cut off your arms. You will lose 20 pounds immediately, and from then on the weight will melt away (unless someone comes to feed you, or you learn how to pick up ding dongs between your toes).
