I have a pug and she gets these snortting spells. She snorts like for 5 minutes straight. I don't know if she gets too hot or too cold is when this happends? I asked the vet and she said that it's because pugs have a little nose. She said it's kinda like a reverse sneeze. What the heck causes this though?

i've had a pug before and now i have a boston terrier and have had two of those. they have short noses. this causes them to snort and snore. it isn't any fun for you are the dog when they get a snorting spell and it is caused by lots of things..nerves or just breathing in something or swallowing something that disturbs their throat. i think that the vet should have told you that when this happens it is best for the animal that you make sure its collar is loose and relax out her neck and soothing rub it up and down on her adamsapple. this will calm her down and stop the snorting spell..also blowing gently in their noses and talking to them helps.
