What time do the shops on Canal St. in New York City's Chinatown close on weekdays?

I am planning on a visit after work this week, but worry that they may be closed by the time I get there.

They're open pretty late...I've walked around there at 8 or 9 and have had difficulty walking around the throngs of people shopping, so you should be fine.

Some of them close earlier than others... like the food markets close early, maybe around 5 or 6... or maybe later. The clothing stores and knock-off stores are open really late. I think some are open past 10 even.
