I've been through some very rough things these pst few years, and I am still young...and I know that things can now be better if i could just get myself back together! But My life has completely changed, Essentially I have no friends and no real family ties, no ties to anywhere really...I am trying to look at this as a new start...and I still have goals...I just don't know how to pick myself up and start going about living again...I just started seeing a couselour for some guidance and help...but other than that I just can't get myself together! What should I do?

The best way to get over something is to set a time line for yourself. Give yourself a set amount of time to mourn and be upset, but set a day to move on. When the move on day hits, get out of bed, shower and keep going, making yourself hold your head up and smile. It will begin to feel more natural and become habit. Trust me it works. Just set your mind to it.

You already did the first thing, see a counselor. You are on the right track and as long as you keep up with acting on doing what you need to do, things should get better. Try to learn about why things did not go well. Chances are you have some behavioral patterns that either caused or facilatated some of the bad things that went on. Learn about this so you can avoid it in the future. ALso, it would probably be a good time to take a break from dating. It will help immensely to build character if you are not sleeping with anyone for a while.

Sweety, I know what your going through. I'm only twenty and my whole life has been a wreck. Abuse, rape, drugs, alchol, parents divorcing,etc, etc. I have only a few close friends and my family doesn't get along very well with each other. You need to hold your head up high and tell yourself your capable of doing anything. If you have goals, go for them. Don't think that your the only one who feels alone, there's plenty of othres. Just stay strong and hold your head up. You can get through this, make a name for yourself sweety. I know what your going through, and soon, it will get better.

You should surround yourself with people having the same goals as you have or those who would admire your goals. Change requires grief. Go through your feelings with others...forgive/share your hurts with them where you think someone will have some understanding. You need to make yourself feel worthy and therefore need to hear that from other non judgemental people that just want to live civilized lifestyles.

you probably don't want to hear this...but the only way is exercise...easier said than done ,I know what you're thinking..but just do a little each day and eventually your start to feel better..get a routine doing things that involved exercise...Who knows you might meet someone exercising to...
