I know that breakfast is the most important meal, but I can't eat breakfast without eating all day. I am trying to keep my calorie intake below 1300, and anytime I eat before 4 or so, I am too hungry to keep below 1300. I feel like whenever I start to eat I can't stop. Any thoughts or advice?

The healthiest way is to know how many calories your body requires to function normally and to perform its daily tasks. Then you need to divide your meals throughout the day so that the largest caloric intake takes place right before the time you are usually most active. If you are most physically active during the morning hours then you may very well be starving your body in the early day and storing unused calories as fat at night from eating at 4. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day because most people are extremely active during the day. If you are most active at night, then dinner might be the most important for you. It also helps to know how long it takes your body to breakdown the foods you eat into calories it can use.. if you wait too long, your body will convert it into fat as a source of energy it can potentially use at a later time. Its also a very good idea to drink lots of water.. not only is it healthy but it also helps control your hungar by fooling your stomach into thinking its not empty.

if you do not eat before 4PM then how are you working the calories off since the major part of the day is gone. Get a watch with a alarm and set it for 15min.breakfast when the alarm goes off Stop for lunch 20 nd dinner 30 minutes, Since you have a willpower control problem you need to use motivational tools-take your most unattractive high weight picture-blow it up and put one on each place in the kitchen where you keep food fridge, pantry etc Naturally its up to you whether to keep pictures up when you have friends over I suggst you go see a Nutritionist-shouldn't cost more than approx . $50.or so and get a Eating Plan and follow it or Join Weight Watchers where the meals are prepared and come to you-then you won't need to have a lot of food in the house to eat. The meetings are good to go to for you'll meet people just like you and you can pick up from others motivation ideas-each meeting is $15.Its the most successful weight loss program . Theres also Jenny Craig,Nutri-system---but the meals are calorie, nutrition, sugar and taken into account prepared-snacks are also provided. Good Luck

That is a very bad idea. If you eat early in the day, you burn off more calories by being active all throughout the day. If you wait until 4pm, when you are just resting at home, and you are about to go to bed, you do not burn off those calories you just ate. You go to bed and those calories just sit there, and it can cause you to gain weight. Also... it is important to snack throughout the day, instead of starving yourself. If you starve yourself all day, and wait until late, your body will go into starvation mode, and then take it every single calorie, sugar, fat, vitamins, etc and store it because your body is thinking you are starving and it needs to keep everything it can get. This can also cause you to gain weight.

The best thing to do is snack on stuff all throughout the day, and exercise. Stay healthy!

Actually, it really isn't a health problem, according to our family doctor, who graduated SummaCumLaude from medical school.

My husband works in the construction field, and he often has no "facilities" when he is on several different locations. He drinks coffee in the morning, and water throughout the day, but does not eat until he comes home in the afternoon. I had been very concerned about that, so I asked our doctor recently, when I was there at the office with him. She said it really doesn't hurt anything, as long as he is eating the right foods and a balanced diet. He is not trying to lose weight... still weighs the same as he did when we were first married 34 years ago.
But she said it is not bad for his health. So there you go.

Be careful because you are describing a compulsive eater. You can't stop eating once you start and you consume all or the majority of your calories at one sitting.

Nothing wrong with what you are doing. I am just fascinated by the time thing. There must be some subliminal cues to your brain that makes you act compulsively at one time of the day, and under control at other times. Interesting. Are there other behaviors like that in your life?
