I'm just not sure if Jamaica will be a great place to raise kids. I want them to have US citizenship and he wants them to be born in Jamaica. Jamaica is very relaxing and fun, but US just seems more like home. What should I do?

I would wonder a lot of things. Like, if Jamaica is so great, why is he here. How does he plan on supporting you and the children. What kind of housing are you going to live in. Does he think going back to Jamaica is going to be parties every night. Does he have a degree to get a fairly decent job. Are you going to have to work too. Are you going to have to support him and his party buddies??? If it don't sound right, don't do it. How you gonna get back if things don't go good for you.

Jamaica is not as peaceful as it seems....

"VIOLENT CRIMES CONSTITUTE one of the greatest social problems facing Jamaica at this time. Over the past two decades, Jamaica has experienced an unparalleled increased in homicides and violent assaults. Many attempts made throughout the years to reduce the number of violent crimes occurring in the island have mainly been short-term measures, aimed predominantly at increasing Police mobility and firepower and have ultimately proved to be unsustainable."

Isn't crime bad in Jamaica? Anywho, I think they'd have better opportunities in America, but you should weigh the pro's and con's of each country. Not to tip the scales, but there are tons on places you can live in America, depending on your job specialty or just simply where you wanna live. Good luck!

That's a tough one. Where is the best place to raise kids??? That's the question. Where will they get the best education, the best opportunities???

I would not live in a place that's too far behind us.....that's not what we want for our kids..we want more than what we have, not less. Good Luck!

Talk to him....and explain what's inside your heart..because if you'll as me....I'll tell him "maybe we can go to Jamaica just to spend a vacation not to reside in that place....because there's no place like home."

If you don't want to move, then you need to end your relationship. And only if both parents are US citizens, will your children automatically be US citizens. Sounds like your man isn't....do you really want them to be born out of the US?

That would depend on how much you love him. I truthfully think that the USA is a much better place to raise kids but then sll ppl don't feel that way.
