How long can a gallon of orange juice be unrefrigerated before it is unsafe to drink? Suppose you came home from the store and did not put your gallon of orange juice in the refrigerator for seven or eight hours. What should I do?

Tuff I think you have issues with your neighbor and his/her cat because that really has nothing to do with orange juice haha

Ok. I threw it out. Its smell was a little off and it did not taste so great either. It could have been my own paranoia, but I realized if I became ill I would prefer having "wasted" a few dollars to avoid the risk.
Thanks for the good answers.

If your house is cool (not cold, but cool) and the orange juice wasn't opened - it's fine. Orange juic doesn't need to be refridgerated when it's unopened - it only needs to be kept in a cool place. However, if your house is warm or the container was open, you should toss the orange juice to avoid getting sick - it's not worth the risk.

It depends on how warm the climate is. If your house is around 76 degrees F then it should be okay. Open it up and smell, if it smells bad throw it out. Then drink a small glass, that will tell ya. I don't think that you can get that sick from it being out that long.
