this is not a joke question so please don't write and say i'm being mean ... i truly want to know ... on Sunday i helped a young girl on the bus who is blind ... i noticed that she was squinting like when you walk out into bright sunlight from a darkened room ... i had noticed this before when a blind person is not wearing dark glasses ... are blind people hyper sensitive to light and squint because any light bothers them???

Even though a blind person may live in total darkness, there are many types of blindness that are not total. A person may be considered blind if they have severe macular degeneration or retinitis pigmentosa. Some of these people may have movement perception or light perception, and yes, they may be hypersensitive to light.
