I guess it would be okay since you have hair all over your body and it doesn't effect those parts.

It's probably ok to use in a pinch or use just once in a while. But I wouldn't use it on a regular basis because you might get a dandruff type condition on you scalp. However it won't hurt to try it. If it works out for you and your scalp is ok and your hair look good. No problem. If you get a itchy condition with your scalp stop using it.

If you're looking for a product that does double duty as a body wash AND shampoo, try Bath and Body Works' Three In One line. They are formulated very mild for use on both hair and skin. I would not trust it on your face, however. A mild exfoliating scrub specially for facial skin to keep it from breaking out and drying out should be in reach at all times!

Yeah, it's okay to use once or twice if you don't have any shampoo to use, but don't use it on your scalp very often... it can dry out your hair and it might start looking dull afterwards.

Only if the body wash says it can be used as a shampoo also.

No, shampoo is specifically formulated for hair, body wash is likely to be too harsh, or leave horrid residue on your hair.
