That is what the news said that is why American soldiers are in Iran. All of a sudden after thousands of generations of fighting they are all of a sudden going to stop. They gassed 400.000 Kurds. They have killed Millions of Africans, why do they believe in two years they will just stop and be best buddies?
Isn't it more a religious thing?

I seriously doubt it. Yes it is a religious war and it just proves that the religions of people get in the way of being human and behaving. It might end when they kill each other and no one is left. The Romans were once so pissed with a nation of fools they destroyed them and burned everything then they poured salt on the ground so nothing would ever grow there again.
Maybe it's time to rid the world of these fools.
Maybe I am being pulled into their stupidity.

I am so surprised by the amount of distorted ideas and twisted facts in your mind. I do not know is this is what is your media is telling you or you just like to generalize. Sunni and Shiite were not killing each other for hundreds of years. Guess what, after the americans came in, they started fighting, Why? Ask CIA. Who killed the kurds (all are Sunni) is Saddam Husein who is a Sunni but secular and he killed all his opponents wither Sunni or Shiite (remember he was a good friend of America when he was killing them). Then what is the hill those millions of Africans?? that you say THEY killed them??? If you are talking about Darfur, you should know that both sides are muslim Sunni and it is a political war not religion induced one). And do you really believe any thing your government is telling you about the reason soldiers are in Iraq? What about: for oil, for protecting Israel, for protecting our dictator Arab kings in gulf etc. At last let me remind you that there are many Shiite in Sunni majority countries and vice versa and they are not fighting. So, the answer to your question is: yes, they will stop when the invading occupying troops leave their country with its intelligence that promotes secret prisons and legislate torture techniques and say Geneva convention does not apply to Americans!!!!! Please listen to something other than CNN and FOX, even BBC is much better than these propaganda horns.

Absolutely not. It is a religious and political thing dated back to the 7th century. The Shiites, the minority believed the leaders of Muslims should come from Muhammad's descendants (divine-right monarchy), while Sunnis, approximately 90 percent of the Muslim world believed Muhammad's successors should be appointed through the process of election and consensus by the elders of the community. Osama bin Laden is a Sunni Muslim.

American soldiers aren't in Iran (maybe Navy Seals, though) they are in Iraq. The fighting will stop when the last zealot sob puts a bullet in his head.

Sadly, they are not likely to ever stop fighting. It is like the world's biggest family feud that has been going on since Muhammad died without naming a successor.

Not unless they can come to a new religious revelation that can join both of them and Christians, like Forgive Affirmed Spirit from whence there can be healing from human to human. World is caught up in materialism and making a profit from weapon's sales.....this solution might be far fetched because of that. People would have to give up ego to those who would humble themselves to be healers like Jesus did at one time. This humbling requires the desiree of healing power to open him/herself up for discernment and worthiness, and for those who would recognize the worthiness to say it. We are taught not to, so who knows?
