I just started taking birth controll pils for my period and feel like im gaining some weight, is this normal and what can i do to help get rid of it faster because i exercise daily and try and eat healthy.

It is normal because of the hormones. They trick your body into thinking you're pregnant and you can put on 5-10 extra pounds a year even if you do everything right. Talk to your doc and see if there's another option for you.

Weight gain is a normal side effect of some birth control. You could always talk to your doctor and see if they will prescribe you a different brand. Some have lower doses of hormones than others. I use Seasonale, and have not gained any weight. I did gain on OrthoCept and OrthoTricyclin.

I have used Ortho Novum 7/7/7/ 28 day pills since I married my hubby in 2001. I have never noticed a weight gain with these, and I don't know if they will be right for you, but I did recommend a few friends to try these and they like them. Hope this helps.

when i first started birth control i gained 10 pounds in about 2 weeks but when i switched types it came off immediately..so maybe try different kinds and see what works best for you

It is normal but ou don't really gain a lot. Just keep exercising and watch your diet like you have been, and go back to see the doctor if you have any more weightgain.

i think it's normal to some people, while some others lose weight.
by the way u can't get rid of it by exercise,maybe u should ask a doctor.

its normsl to gain few kg but u have to stop eating sweets and reduce oily food
