the salvation army is NOT a thrift store or charity. they are a compassionate christian temperance church. When my son's house burnt down, with all his computer equipment for his job inside, the Sally Ann showed up, gave him a place to live, new clothes and furniture, paid kennel fees for his dog and cat and found him some computers so he could work.. When the ice storm hit the eastern states and Canada a few years ago, the Sally Ann were there with warm blankets, food and shelter for displaced people. At christmas, the Sally Ann supplies toys for kids who wouldn't get any toys This is who the Salvation Army is, not just a thrift store.

the salvation army has nothing to do with the military. it is a charity organization that collects money and clothes and other items for the poor. a career in the salvation army would be a very kind, humanist, and philanthropist career but it wouldnt make much moey or have anything to do with combat

people who belong to the Salvation army, take it very seriously. it's not only a career its a way of life and I'd check it out before even considering it.

If you don't want to be a full-time soldier in the S.A., you can join their version of the National Guard. It only requires you to stand outside WalMart ringing a little bell until your brain turns into silly putty. No major commitments!
