~~~We made a seafood dish,,,alot of it!! now there is leftovers I would like to share with my co-workers. Shrimp, crab,cucumbers, green onion, and clamato juice. Serve with Tostitos scoops. We made it Satuday night, and there is so much leftover, I would like to bring it to work to share, but not quite sure if it is still a "safe" left over to serve. Would you serve this still to people you work with ? Do you think it is still safe to eat?,,,,it tastes soooooo good!
Let's see - you just asked this question so you are probably planning on taking it to work tomorrow, which would be Wednesday. You made the dish Saturday night. That means the dish would be 4 days old - that is pretty old for seafood leftovers. And then you have to account for the amount of time it's going to be in your vehicle, unrefridgerated, while you are driving to work.
Personally, I think more than 2 days is too much for seafood. I think if you want to eat it yourself, go ahead, but I wouldn't dare serve it to anyone else at this point.
My Grandmother had a saying for leftovers that I ALWAYS stick to, "When in doubt, throw it out." I would take Grandma's advice if I were you!
If it is under refrigeration it should be good for up to 2 maybe 3 days to be on the safe side, if the smell changes do not serve it.
If you keep it in a air tight dish, it may only last two days. Shrimp spoils fast from my experience.
If you have to ask if it is safe then it probably isn't. If you had made it Sunday and took it to work Monday it probably would have been good.
Saturday night? Probably not. I wouldn't try it.
