I had an "out of body experience" when I had a bad motorcycle accident about 5 1/2 years ago, it was like I was watching it happen from about 10ft above where it happened. I ended up with post traumatic stress disorder and depression and other physical injurys after the accident and was unable to work for for 4 1/2 years.

I've had two that I know of. I have no idea how they happened, or why. I was in deep prayer both times. Both times I was able to look down at my physical body. The second time, I was up somewhere. I was able to see time as though certain events were like mountain peaks poking above the clouds. I could will to return to my body, or to stay there, but time there was moving at a MUCH faster rate of speed. I could think something & it would be done.

I used a breathing technique I deiscovered later ws a Raja Yoga technique. I cannot say where I went. I could not travel in this reality, I could not see my body, the room or anything. I seemed to pass through a dark patch and floated through some wierd terrains. It was highly addicitive because the technique I used released endorphins and serotonin.

Sometimes I wonder if that is what some of my dreams are. Especially when I'm just drifting off.
Occasionally I get the feeling that I'm flying or can fly (no I'm Not on drugs),
it's more of a....I can't explain...nearest I can come to would be a Zen thing.

I had a minor one after being awake for 72 hrs. I was in the sun on a very warm day and I felt very peaceful. I then turned to my left and saw my body sitting on the sun lounger.

You know that sleep paralysis thing? well my girlfriend had it at exactly the same time as me years ago. We both acknowledged that we were both having it at the time without speaking then we both fell asleep immediately. It wasn't until the following evening when she said"something happened last night" before I remembered. still freaks me out thinking of it now!

How?....There are several techniques. I'm still learning also. I've read 9 books so far on this subject and would recommend checking out this guy named Robert Monroe.....
