I want to bake homemade pumkin pie. The ingredients calls for 1-1/2 c. undiluted evaporated milk or rich cream. Now I could only find evaporated milk on the store shelves and the only creamers I see on the shelves are whipping cream and half & half milk and creamers for the coffee. Please tell me what is undiluted evaporated milk and rich cream.

It is the same thing, when you add water then it becomes diluted. Look in the refrigerated section, you should find cream, if not half and half will work.

technically yes,Evaporated is due to the process of removing water from the milk. After the water has been removed, the product is chilled, stabilized, packaged and sterilized. It is commercially sterilized at 240-245 degrees F (115-118 °C) for 15 minutes The evaporation process also concentrates the nutrients and the food energy. Thus, for the same weight, undiluted evaporated milk contains more food energy than fresh milk. hope this helps

The evaporated milk in the can is undiluted. To dilute this milk you would add equal amounts of water. Undiluted evaporated milk is the same as half and half.

undiluted means do not dilute so feel free to buy the evaporated milk in the can from the store and use that to make your pie.

The recipe was referring to a can of evaporated milk as it comes out of the can. It's telling you not to water it down with anything to thin it out.

They are the same. You can buy sweetened and unsweeted evap. milk, which are two different thing.

If you can't find what you're looking for, use 18% cream or whipping cream

I think it means that YOU don't dilute the evap milk just use it in the can. when it is diluted it is supposed to be like whole milk. just like the directions for using it on the can. the recipe you have wants you to use it full strength
