Hey, different people have fun different ways. Some people can be deleriously happy sitting on a hard pew listening to a dull sermon. And some people can read the Bible without falling alseep after a verse or two. Of course, we all know that hidden in there somewhere are some very SEXY verses, but they take searching for, and sometimes that can be hard work. I have never said Christians don't or can't have fun, but I do think their idea of fun is rather radically different from most people's. Drinking alcohol is a big taboo to many Christians, I know. I do not call Christians or atheists stupid just because I happen to not be in agreement with them. I try my best to respect others and tolerate, if not appreciate, their differences. To each their own, I always say. There are limits of course. I would not apply that open-minded phrase to serial killers, for example.

well I got to answer that when I first became a Christian that was what the enemy kept trying to discourage me with...I kept thinking "now I will never have anymore fun" my idea of fun at that time was to go out get high or drunk..I thought that watching porn with my husband and having sex till it hurt was tops...but I found out better...I have NEVER had more fun in my life until I became a Christian and was free from the shackles of sin and death...I can honestly say I was dead before I met Jesus and he is the life and he gives life abundantly!!!! sorry about being so graphic, but sometimes ya just have to!

I'm an atheist and two of my best friends are heavy duty Christians. We have a great time together. They are a lot of fun. We watch "guy" movies, talk about women, eat food that is bad for us, shoot guns (they shoot at birds - I shoot at pine cones), they also like to drink in moderation and always make me be the DD.
Yeah, some Christian are a lot of fun.

Many people tend to stereotype before getting to know people I think. It's a shame because they miss out on a lot of interesting people and personalities they could have got to know but just labelled them and put them in a pigeon hole instead.
I'm certainly having plenty of fun as a christian and I was actually a more miserable person before I came to Christ.

Speaking of assumptions.... Non-christians, dont you love it when christians assume that having fun for us ALWAYS means drinking, drugs and sex? Without christianity, we cant possibly enjoy things like nature hikes, coversations with friends of seeing a good movie, right christians? Please.....you sicken me with your delusions and exaggerated worth of christian 'morals'. If christianity were so moral then the majority of people in prisons would not be christians, would they? But that is exactly the truth of the matter. Do you know why this is? Because if it pleases you and you do it 1) in moderation and 2) in a way that does not hurt others, people are free to do whatever they please. If you are continually having to struggle to prevent yourself from doing something that deep down you actually like, thats not very natural or healthy, is it? And what kind of sick god would create humans with the capacity to enjoy a wide range of things, and then punish you for enjoying some of them based on some arbitrary rules. Your 'morals' are artificial and foolish. If you cannot be trusted to moderate and be responsible for your own actions, then maybe you should not be allowed to pollute those of us who can.

But for every atheist that claims Christians "don't have fun," there's also a Christian somewhere saying that atheists had bad childhoods (which is why they are atheist) or that they have "Satan in their lives." Be fair; the assumptions go both ways.

I don't care what unbelievers think or assume of Christians lifestyle because they couldn't live up to the christian lifestyle or they wouldn't of become atheists. They obviously are worried about us or they wouldn't question us or dwell on our lifestyles. You know what they say about people who make assumptions are the time.

The thing is that I don't have assumptions, I have had encounters, lived with, and had to deal with "christians" on a daily basis all my life. These people I would NEVER consider to be true christians, they do not follow their faith accordingly. There are barely any true christians, and those, scare me the most. Not because of "god", because I do not fear "god" because I do not believe he exists. But because they are so blinded by their faith.
