there are about 41 cooking terms that i have to define. I have to define each term within context of food preparationand cooking. The presentation of these definitions should be very creative.

You can separate the terms into subcatogories.

''Cooking'' and the terms inside would be broil, baste, saute, simmer, and so on.

''Ingredients'' and the terms inside would be anything inside a recipe that you need to define. (spices, meats, vegetables, juices) and so on.

''Measurements'' and the terms inside would be teaspoon, tablespoon, cup, ounce, pinch and so on.

Or you could list them alphabetically like an index. That's how I'm going to present my glossary of terms for my book!

One word: Puppets.

Puppets are always creative.
Are they one category or words? If so, try to liken each one my similie. If you had to define parboil, explain thatit's the "half sister" of Boiling.

How about introducing them like they are the names of people in your family? The definitiions are the descriptions of them. This is Poppa Thamommata (Thermometer), when his temper rises, he gets redder. My Timid Cousin Timer - He's very quiet, and then he makes a noise at just the right moment!

maybe try using them as many as possible in the preparation of a dinner meal and if you find some you dont need uuse the term well this is not what i use...you could work a few in that way...go thru the steps of the entire meal...just a thought..
