nasser---

“Men are the “PROTECTOR” and “MAINTAINERS “ of women.
Because Allah has the one more (strength) than the others and because they support them form their means. …”. ------This is the exact translation.

don’t come up with ur OWN translation….there is a big difference in BEING IN CHARGE AND---being the PROTECTOR and MAINTAINER…. Means men have the RESPONSIBILITY to cherish and keeping in good condition for women to live in. the word “Men” not ONLY means -HUSBAND. But all as---brothers ,fathers….if u say….”IN CHARGE OF WOMEN” it gives the reader a NEGATIVE impression of God’s word. And if men don’t keep their responsibility “properly” , and abuse women, then they SURELY have to be accountable to Allah for tht, sooner or later. As Allah is All-Seeing, & All-Hearing, even ur own hand, toung, feet will bear witness against u on the Day of Judgment .

Go one week without a religion and reject God. Than see if it makes a difference or if you are affecting negatively or positively. I did the exact same thing from being a faithful practicing Muslim, I just got tired of all the prayer and stress. During that week I looked at youtube videos of Richard Dawkins and some other Imams that explained Islam. I also read the Quran in English and Arabic again and realized what I am really following. Today I am FREE and I make my own decisions and guilt free. I am not saying this to misguide you or make you feel horrible. Just give it a thought. Also, other Muslims here may give me thumbs down and curse at me, but that is because they are trying to gain Sawaab for getting you back in track in Islam and basically benefiting themselves. I have left Islam for a year, and my clinical depression has gone away, I have gotten engaged for 5 months now, and this is my last month for medicine school :). I simply am a Deist now. You may email me if you want to talk or ask anything, I will try and help. Good luck!

Strange, mohommed must have been a terrible author. He couldn't seem to state clearly what he meant - compared with what he did.

the fact is that it's as much fiction as all the other "holy books" of the world. do you believe something just because it says it in a book? Where's the evidence for its truth? - Right! there isn't any.

The Torah (Tanach), Bible (xtian), and koran were written to maintain control over semitic tribes between 4000 and 1500 years ago. The information contained in them is interesting (from a historical point of view) but bears no relevance to modern life.

Treat them as what they are - primitive superstitions from a time when the only known form of government was totalitarian dictatorship.

Actually when the Qur'an is being recited so beautifully it's hard not to get a little teary-eyed. And especially when I was at Masjidil Haram in Makkah... I remember feeling so complete.

Surah Luqmaan (The wise) is one my favourites. It is so full of wisdom! Among many things it tells us how to treat our parents with respect and love and the importance of establishing prayers.

As-salaamu'alaykum,

Alhamdulillaah, I have many, but they depend on the recitor.

Surah Maryam-Sho'bah by Mishary Rashid Al-Afasy,
http://english.islamway.com/bindex.php?section=echapters&recitor_id=152

Mash'Allaah, the best recitor so far!!!

Also Surah Khaf-Albazzi by again Mishary Rashid Al-Afasy,
http://english.islamway.com/bindex.php?section=echapters&recitor_id=199

Also his Juz 'Amma[30], and Juz Tabaraka[29] and Qudsami'allah [28]
He has two recitations, one of which is his old recitation and the other new. I love both. But the old is not the full Qur'aan, the new is:

Old: http://english.islamway.com/bindex.php?section=echapters&recitor_id=10

New:
Hight, Clear Quality: http://hidayahonline.org/?page=audio&reciter=7

Good Quality: http://hidayahonline.org/?page=audio&reciter=7

Also, Surah Rahman by Ibrahim Jibreen, and his Surah 'Anfaal
http://hidayahonline.org/?page=audio&reciter=7

And there are many other nice recitors

AL-BAQARAH aka SURAH #2 because it is so clearly ignored by those who would claim to hold the SURAH most dear.
