A woman's question answered by women.
Think! You women have a common problem. You are judging your self-worth in terms of your appearance. I bet you're all conventionally 'attractive' - or you wouldn't be writing right here.
Your problem lies in _why_ you love food so much. I would suggest you have an emotional need that isn't being met. You need to meditate on your inner self and listen. Then you will find your real hunger and you'll have a chance to address it - with, I'm sorry to have to tell you, therapy.
Trying to stop the cravings by having a glass of water before meals and all that 'good common sense' is only temporary treatment of a _symptom_ of someting much more serious than wanting a little bit of something 'naughty'. You may not be putting on weight yet but you will, trust me. I advise working on this properly now - you already suspect you have a deeper problem or you wouldn't be asking this while you have no weight problem.

A prestigious sort of club of people for losing weight, here in Argentina, has an interesting motto: "Just for today". Meaning you'll just make an effort to keep away from unhealthy food for the rest of THIS day. And tomorrow, again for that day, and so on. If your commitment is only to eat healthy for one day, you'll find it easier to succeed, because you can have one victory a day.

Of course, you're not ALWAYS going to succeed. But those days you do, you'll feel more confident to face the next day.

Oh, and another tip is don't just give up junk food entirely. Limit it only to one and the same day of the week. So, the 'just for today' policy works only six days a week, and thinking that your free day is coming will make you feel stronger the rest of the week.

Good luck.

Find something else to do when you're just bored instead of eating. Also, drink a glass of water before you eat snacks, because a lot of the time your body will confuse dehydration with hunger, and you'll realize after drinking some water that you aren't really hungry after all. Also, keep some healthy stuff around to munch on for when you just can't help it.

Don't keep snacks in the house or where you work. When you feel like snacking, have some water or tea. Works for me.

I used to be just like you, when I was young, but my mom warned me what would happen so I did not eat all those good things. and now, even lettuce ads fat on my belly and thighs. You will suddenly start getting fat. and then The HAHA will be on you. because its harder to lose weight when you are used to eating all the time.
