I know now I have an anxiety disorder. I also know that the 'what ifs' are part of an anxiety disorder.
What I don't know is : Do the "What if's" happen to everyone with anxiety (before treatement, of course) or do different people get different symptoms, making me one of the lucky ones. Ha, Ha.
Don't worry about me, I am way better now since I have meds that control it very well and see another physciatrist tomorrow.

i believe eryone who experiences anxiety/panic attacks would agree that the symptoms are the same. i'm glad you're on meds and seeing a psychiatrist. that's the only way i could bring mine under control.
happy emotional health!

The what'ifs are very common with anxiety disordres but not all of them have it. like OCD doesn't usually.

I would recommend seeing a psychologist for skill building. That helps A LOT if you do have to go off meds for whatever reason, like pregnancy or accidental loss of meds. This really helped me a lot and now i don't take meds anymore. Sometimes i still have panic attacks, but I use my skills.

Oh heck yes the what ifs occur. I had anxiety problems for a short period of time and this was in my mind always.

Dont be silly "what ifs" is for born leaders. it means you can see events afore they happen.e.g you can visualise your sisters wedding three days in advance and perfectly from morning as she dresses to evening reception all in your mind. thats a gift from god.Bush can see what would happen "if" n. korea..... But the difference is averting the mishqaps is the problem as none else is seeing them except you alone and nobody else is willing to help as they dont understand. its a pity you have to take medicine to cure this GREAT gift desired by many!!!!
in moments of great anxiety i lay down my plan sammary alound the evidentry jotes down the programe/sequence alocating actions to be relayed on the material day an implimentation plan.
anxiety is borne of feer and negative attitude towards issues. be vegelant not medicine
