Ca recently passed a law. If you are injured during the commission of a felony you can no longer sue the person who inflicted the injury. That is a great start if you ask me. How can a person feel safe in their own home if they know that they can be sued by a burglar who breaks into their house wielding a gun and you beat them down?
The next step is to let every compitent and responsible citizen carry a gun and let them use it if necessary. It should be mandatory that every household has a 12 ga in it, loaded and ready at all times. Would you break into a house if you knew that there was 5 rounds of 00 buck waiting for you in the tube and 5 more in the saddle? Would you say "give me your wallet" if you knew the dude you were approaching was carrying a .44 mag? Probably not unless your iq is 20 or lower and you think common sense is a form of currency.

Well definately more law enforcement. But don't forget civilians can do their part to. They can report anything suspicious that they see. Get familiar with the local police stations and emergency numbers. Report any suspicious activities such as if you see an exchange of hands from someone on the street to someone in a car or if you see someone swerving on the road call it in as a possible 10-20 where i live but just say drunk driver. There you go now everyone do your part.

Hey there,
What I am going to say is very controversial but this book came out a few months ago reporting that abortion (maybe certain races??) has decreased the crime rate.
I guess his thinking is that less children are being born to people that are not able to cope. Poverty is also a huge issue to crime, so if less children are being born to poverty that could reduce crime. ( in this guy's thesis)
Not sure what you think about that, but it is a interesting point of view. Not saying its right or wrong... I don't know enough about the subject to have point of view on it.
Just thought I would pass this idea along.......

Crimes are usually committed by desperate people. Reduce crime by improving the situations that people live in, ie, reduce poverty.
The single biggest cause of poverty is children. Nothing else is as expensive as a child, not only in dollars, but in time, opportunity cost, etc. When a teen or uneducated young adult has a baby, their chances of going to college and making a decent life for themselves go right down the drain. Get birth control and birth control education into the schools, into TV and radio ads, into every pharmacy, etc, and you do a lot to improve society and reduce crime. Its too bad that when progressive, forward thinking people try to do this, religious nuts fight us tooth and nail.

I think most people would agree (atleast where I live) that we already have too many cops getting paid for doing nothing.
My neighborhood is full of drug dealers,gun-fire,and vandalism.Yet the police would rather spend their time sitting on their fat @sses writing tickets at a radar trap 2 miles down the road from where the REAL action is!
Reducing crime is a social responsibility! It starts at home!Parents need to take control of their kids.Teach them how to act! Teach them right from wrong! Instill in them a strong work ethic and a sense of self reliance!
When we raise good kids we also insure our own future!
We also need to elect officials that won't infringe on our Second Ammendment Rights! That is the Right To Bear Arms! It's a proven fact that violent criminals are much less active in jurisductions where citizens are allowed to actively defend themselves!

Increase the amount of patrolling the officers do. If people see cops patroling all the time, they are less likely to commit a crime. Let it be known what the consequences are for crimes, make them harsher if neccessary.

More police officers like Clinton did in the 1990s he funded 100,000 more police officers that put a dent in crime. Also, getting criminals on stupid crimes like Jaywalkin, Drinking on a public sidewalk , or loud music ,makes it easier to prevent more harmful crimes.
