I get so upset that I am paying $50 an hour for somebody who doesn't deserve to be paid squat. He offers no motivation whatsoever. Of course I have self-motivation and that is enough. I just wanted to perhaps learn some new things but I learned nothing new. At $50 an hour, shouldn't a person deserve more expertise?

I also see personal trainers watching people on a cardio machine for 1 hour. So basically they are getting paid $50 to watch somebody on a treadmill. The audacity of the charltans.

You are paying for a personal service. Your payment (their fee) entitles you to 45-50 minutes of personal attention - weight training, physiology, diet review, nutritional advice, motivation, etc. If your trainer is not doing all of these, fire him!! There are some things you can do so you don't get ripped off. Show up early and warm up, either stretching or aerobics. If you don't do this, then he has the obligation to make it a part of your workout. Once you have done the weight training (which should be 30 minutes or more), your trainer should walk you to the treadmills, cycles, elliptical machines, etc. and get you started, then complete paperwork about your session. He is done at this point, but a good trainer will check on you to make sure you are working or you are not hurting. You sound like you know all this, so get rid of your current trainer and find a good one. If you have signed a contract, don't let this deter you from the right path. Threaten him with small claims court if you need to. Good Luck!!

You would think so. Any time you are paying for any service, you should be completely satisfied with it, if not search for some other person that you might find is helping you achieve your goals more adequately. Don't ever pay someone for a service not rendered. Good luck in your search, most times word of mouth is the best advertisement.

Hell yeah. I'd ask for my money back and not even think twice about it. You probably will find you haven't been the first person to complain.

Well then you are the fool if you know there is a problem and continue paying for the service, aren't you?
