No it did not stop the East Germans did it? I don't care who immigrates here as long as it is done legally. I hate being lied to and this business that they are taking jobs that no else wants is a out and out lie. I also hate that they don't pay taxes while taking everything we offer the needy. The other day at a conference I voiced my opinion as to what could be done. I don't mean to be bragging as that is not like me but from what I have been told they liked my suggestion so much they took a vote and it won with 97% of the vote. They even went so far as to ask if they could pass it along to others including politicians in our two states Virginia and Maryland. I of course don't care, I am married and I am used to not having an opinion. :-0
It was and is very easy and is so simple it could actually be carried out. Anyone hiring a illegal alien gets one year mandatory jail time; anyone renting a car, room or home to a illegal gets 6 months mandatory jail time. Both have $1500 to $2000 fines. It was felt enacting the law might be sufficient for resolving the problem but it would assured with the first person to be charged. God Bless You and the Southern People

The wall on the border between the USA and Mexico is just the start to put an end to the invasion of the illegals coming into our country. It will probably don't stop it completely but it will show the Mexican Government that we the American people mean business and we will do everything in our power to stop them. This is just a start, now we have to go to our government and demand from them to start implementing our immigration laws with the rest of illegals that are already in the country. United we Stand.

I wish that was the answer but unfortunately, illegals will still TRESPASS. It will help i'm sure along with the courageous minute men who are helping to protect the sanctity and security of the U.S. Who knows, maybe down the road when people learn to obey the law, we americans might just make a decent paycheck. Much less daycare and more time spent with children if only one person had to work. Look at how other countries would treat this situation of illegals or 'outsiders'. Exactly...they don't have this problem.

Any deterrence whatsoever is a help. It may make some think again about maybe not coming, after all. Of course, there will always be those who will seek other ways to come. Some will go on to the more dangerous areas and more will hire coyotes, therefore, we will hear more and more stories in the news about those who "died trying to come for a better life" and pro-illegal immigrant supporters will cry out trying to blame us for the increase in deaths and injuries to those crossing illegally, even though common sense will tell you it is their own damn fault! Along with the fence, a combination of other strategies have to be used, including hitting the employers of illegal immigrants hard, more and more mass deportations, refusal of any kind of social benefits WHATSOEVER for illegal immigrants. As well, a systematic crack-down on visa-overstayers must occur. Another big incentive to illegal immigration that should be removed is the "anchor baby" law. Not just any ONE thing, alone, will do the job - it has to be a combination of many things such as these I have listed and they MUST be done consistently and unfailingly.

No the wall dont deter them period. It just makes more money for coyotes to smuggle the people in. Not the poor person in Southern Mexico fault he or shes wants to feed the family? Closing the borders to thugs, drugs, can be done with pulling the troops out of Iraq put them on the mexican border. Coyotes know border control procedure and policies on both sides of the border, and know who is paid off , and who isnt. Not just Latino in is thug and drug businness on the border. Would not be surprised be a Anglo competitor in the nasty business. With millitary troops all over the border it deter the criminal enterprise more than a fence. You cant blame the migrant from Southern Mexico.

Why should America continue to be so tolerant of criminals from other countries? Is it too radical to want snipers, assault rifles and razor wire on the wall? To exploit the poor, I am sure corporations and our government will find a way to let illegal aliens continue to flood our country. Those two entities are not going to be happy until America is a third world crap hole. I can only hope I vote correctly to solve this issue and get new members in congress.

It is meant to deter all of us. It is meant to give a stupid solution to shut us up, but we should not shut up until it stops or at least until we get government support.
The laws need to be enforced. They should not be hired, they should not be able to rent or buy property. They should not be able to wire money out of the country. They should not be able to do anything that we do here without proper documentation. If the laws were enforced, we would have no problem, they would not want to be here illegally. They would be forced to come here legally or not come here at all.

Absolutely not! They haven't been deterred so far by the fence that already exists in California. This was a colossal waste of taxpayer money. But that's what you get with the spendthrift reboobs. This is estimated to cost close to 1 billion and an additional 100 million a year just to maintain. More to add to our ever increasing National Debt, and we will have nothing to show for it. Not only do I believe it will not deter them, I believe it will encourage them, just to defy it.

Solomon Ortiz, Ted Kennedy and other Democrats are working tirelessly to circumvent immigration law. No wall will keep out people who already have representatives in both houses of the US Congress ( salaries paid for by you).
