I am going to guess, Bobby Jack, that the people who say that have either some other religion or no religion. I will also guess that the people who would say such a thing are not very kind or sensitive to your feelings. I am confident that both of my guesses about this matter are correct. What I am unable to guess is whether you are a kind and sensitive person when you are faced with the people who make this type of statement. I also cannot guess whether you allow people to see the acceptability of your evidence by being willing to accept similar evidence that they might supply. You see truth in the Bible while others might see truth in other scriptures. If you say that yours is true and theirs is not, can they do anything other than say the same to you? As long as there are winners and losers, there will be fights. A winner fights to win, but a potential loser fights to survive. It is up to the stronger person to call off the fight.
Maybe if you just removed the offensive word "stupid" from your question, all would be well.

Sigh....
That's the problem. The only evidence to back up Christianity is a book written over 2,000 years about by a group of people that we can no longer verify. Islam is about the same. It has a sacred script that no one can go back to the author and verify. I'm sure there are others out there, but you get my point.
The most public Christians tend to leave a negative mark in peoples minds. Pedophile priests, higher priests protecting the pedophile priests, the constant "Jesus loves you" droning. I'm a Christian and to be truthful, I'm getting tired of it. This church as too many preachers and not enough faithful.
Don't talk Christian. be a Christian. It would scare you to find out how many " Christians " don't know what that means.

Believe what you want but to use the bible as proof is a fallacy. The gospels of the bible were written 120 years after Christ died. The rest was written by 80 different people over another 200 years. The council of nicea in 325 ad decided what was to be in "The Bible" not God. God's word is nothing more than a few thousand people over 2000 years putting their own opinion in to print.

You are going to get a lot of "smart" answers to your question. Trust me!
I hope you are not saying that Christianity is not a religion. If it is not a religion, get ready for your church to lose its tax-exempt status!
I am a Christian and I believe that having a relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ is the hallmark of the Christian religion.
God bless you and don't worry about what the scoffers say in response to your question.

see, you just made their point, How exacrtly can you have a relationship with someone you've never met, never had a conversation with, and has not been on the planet for 2000 years? And the bible is notevidence that the bible speaks the truth. that's kind of like saying that a cookbook is the proof that you are a good cook.

If I wrote a book saying I was god would you except the book as proof I'm right? Think about what you believe better than that. I'm not saying don't be christian but show more knowledge in what you believe. Everything you believe for Jesus Islam has for Mohamed so your not special and neither is Christianity.

Jesus himself was persecuted and he told His followers to expect the same. If we are truly following Christ we are to expect persecution on some level at least. This is why the bible tells us to rejoice when we are. Because it proves our faith.
Jesus warned us that we would have trouble in the world but to 'take heart because I have overcome the world'.
We are citizens of heaven and are not of this world. This is why christians are mocked more than other religions. Because evil forces want to stop the truth.
You are correct, there is much evidence to support christianity but most people who mock christianity are blinded to this and will not assess the evidence available.
It is easy to say 'oh thats a fairy tale' and dismiss it without even studying it but its not so easy to sift through the wealth of evidence available and make an informed decision.
And there is evidence outside the bible to support the claims of christianity. If anyone is interested a good site is
www.christiananswers.net
in the apologetics section.

It is just like any other religion, most specifically a monotheistic one. There are Muslims who believe just as strongly as you do in your god as they do in theirs. Same with Jews. They have evidence too - the Qur'an and the Torah.
They would argue that their way is the only true way. And that is exactly why so many people have issues with religion. Saying there is only one true way is arrogant and simple minded. Who are you to say that the millions of Jews and Muslims and Hindus and Buddhists, etc. are wrong?

Look at it and tell me why it's not stupid to believe in the bible? Seriously think about this. You think a book written by mankind 2000 years ago when we still believed that dragons roamed the world wherever human beings hadn't yet been is the truth?
If you actually read what you see in that book objectively, you'd think it's crap too.

The bible was written by man and has been editted and changed over hundreds of years.
One..You sound hateful which I am sure your god would not appreciate.
Stop forcing your religion on everyone and maybe you won't get smart remarks in return. Its a personal choice that everyone makes for themselves.. If you want respect for your religon that give it to those around you as well.
Thank you and Goodnight!
