Because their cars are tinted out and sound systems so loud they cant even hear themselves. Plus, the reefer cloud is so thick, they can't see through the smoke to see the lights.

I'd like to respond to this question. I really am surprised that your code 3 training, if any, didn't include a simple fact. A person driving an auto with the windows rolled up and the radio on cannot hear an emergency vehicle approaching until the emergency vehicle is within approximately 75' to 100'. Try it some time and see.

It has happened to me only once, on a very crowded Freeway ,there was no place to move over to, so I just stopped, hoping the Emergency Vehicle could find a way around all the traffic. Maybe some people don't hear or see you is the fact, that they are on a cell phone having all their attention on their conversation, instead of watching the traffic.

Because sometimes we are distracted. There is more going on, on the roadways than paying attention to lights and sirens. You have to look forward sometimes. It's called focusing on actually driving. And, whether it's good or right or not, there are things like cell phones going off, kids screaming in the backseat, the volume of the radio....
In other words, sometimes we just don't notice you until you're breathing down our throughts, or it's too late to do anything about it.
Don't take it personally...

Obviously too many think the rear view mirror is for fixing makeup, and how in blazes can you hear those sirens when Radar Love is playing?
I always pull over by the way. My dad drilled mirror use into us very young.

I think alot of it is shock. They don't really know if its them your after, or someone else. I personally start to pull over, and give enough for them to go around, and if they seem to follow, then i stop. I think alot of people try to ignore it, hoping its someone else thats in trouble, and not them!
They even do it to ambulances, when there are emergencys! So... one of those questions, the world may never know!!

It is because red and blue lights are not green and red. If you changed the blues to green-people may pull over to see the Christmas tree lights:)

I don't understand this either. I always move over, and I almost get hit by idiots who don't pay attention! I get angry when I pull over for a funeral procession and the drivers behind me honk like fools.

I think they should have a cop follow every other cop and ambulance, with a camera to record license numbers of all the morons too stupid to pull over.
