The normative answer is that they are the three "persons" of the Trinity, this language coming from the Council of Constantinople in 381. To say "forms" would be the heresy of "modalism" (also known as "Sabellianism").

The Trinity is an implicit paradox. The three persons are both one and three, so any explanation that causes its composition to "make sense" is a poor explanation.

The Bible clearly describes the Father as the Almighty. It also calls Him the Redeemer in Job 19:25-26: "I know that my Redeemer lives, and that in the end he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been destroyed, yet in my flesh I will see God. I myself will see him with my own eyes." Here, the Redeemer is called 'God'. In Isaiah 59:19-20 we learn that "From the west, men will fear the name of Jehovah, and from the rising of the sun they will revere his glory. For he will come like a pent-up flood that the breath of the Lord drives along. The Redeemer will come to Zion, to those in Jacob who repent of their sins." This means that the Almighty is also called the Redeemer, and is also called God. We all know that those prophecies about the Redeemer coming to Earth were fulfilled in the person of Jesus Christ, who is the Redeemer. This equates Jesus with the Almighty. The only unforgivable sin, according to Jesus' own words, is to blaspheme against the Holy Spirit. This means that if the Holy Spirit was in a subordinate position to the Father and the Son, Jesus must have been wrong to say that. This is scriptural warrant for also equating the Holy Spirit with the Almighty. Given that the Almighty is the One God who created everything, and that the Bible shows the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit all created everything together, we have clear teaching of their distinctive personalities and inter-twined relationships within the Godhead of the Almighty. Everything in the universe had to have a starting point in time, but the Bible shows that the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit were never created. They have always been - together - in the Godhead of the Almighty.

I think the idea is that there are 3 forces at work here. There is the universal energy that powers this existence (God), the human part of us (the Son) and our Higher Self, Soul or Spirit Self (the Holy Spirit). Each of us are a combination of all 3 things.

I think then that they are forms of the same energy (like vapor and steam and fog are all forms of water).

Peace!
