Get her something for both her birthday and christmas. She may say she doesn't care but I'm sure you'll make her very happy. I don't know what to give her, I don't know her, but certainly you can think of something. Make the birthday gift something really special. Her birthday is probably more special to her than christmas.

I think you should certainly get a gift for her for both, even if your budget is still the same. As a "Christmas Baby" she's probably been jipped her whole life -- you shouldn't do the same.
If she's really busy around Christmas, why not do something for her birthday that will help you relax? Hint -- you can go into almost any fancy hair salon and buy a gift certificate for a manicure/pedicure. One on its own should only cost you $40, together they should run you around $60. You'll make major points for sure by not doing the "Merry X-Mas and Happy Birthday" cheep-skate thing, but also thinking about a way for her to pamper herself.
Go for it, dude!

I can't tell you what to get her...but maybe ask her if she'd rather have a bigger present on her birthday and a smaller on christmas or vice versa. Then you can kind of go from there! I think it would actually be easier if you bought two....otherwise you're going to feel more pressure for that ONE gift being amazing, the ONE gift that's going to be both her birthday AND christmas present!

Get her two seperate gifts. People who have birthdays in June don't get combo gifts and neither should people who have birthdays close to Christmas. Even though she said it was ok and it probably would be, but I would definately recommend two presents.

get her a gift for both! something big for her birthday...and something small for xmas.

jewelry always works! certificates of loving things to do to maximize the gift giving......try nights out on the certificate such as boweling on one night (pick a day in 2 weeks) this will spread out your money better.

I dont know your gf, but I know women (I am one) and your best bet would be figure out how much you can spend.... get her
a small token of your affection for her birthday and then get
her something REALLY GOOD for Christmas.

Women usually say one thing and mean another..... I dont understand it, but its the way of the world. Play it safe and get a card and something small for the birthday..... a picture frame with a picture of the two of you....or something like that. I dont know how old you are.....so I dont REALLY have an idea of what she might like, but MOST WOMEN like pictures.

GOOD LUCK

Everyone I know with birthdays close to Christmas feels kind of ripped off that their birthday gets blended in with it. I'd do something extra special to celebrate her day.

She's your girl, ask her to write a list of what she wants and tell her to give it to you, then buy two items on the list, and surprise her.
