The best brands are Woods 100 Finest Demarara Rum and Pusser's Navy Rum. They are both fantastic rums far better than Lamb's or Morgan's or any other cheap brands. They may cost more but they are certainly worth it.
Whatever you do don't confuse navy rum with Barbados rum which is a sickly sweet desert liqueur!

Listen to Monkeyman, the best without doubt are Woods 100 Finest Demarara Rum and Pusser's Navy Rum. They are something in the region of 55% alcohol (most spirits are now 37.5% to 40%). More than anything, the taste is far superior to all other rums. They both have a great taste of caramel. You can't them straight, try coke with them.

having ran an Off license for 5 yrs my regulars tipple Is Captain Morgan and drank with plenty of it with peppermint cordial ??? I myself am a Absolute Voddie drinker Nice an smooth an never leaves me with hangover lol

Captain Morgan......Morgan is me wifes maiden name and me sons first name............i have a bottle which i drink with Coke (not Pepsi and definately not Virgin Coke).
OK so its sentimental but it tastes bloody nice!
