So far, no one has said anything about you credit SCORE. If you want to know what a credit score is, I recommend the site linked below. It is the company that developed the FICO score. Your score is basically a number intended to summarize everything on your credit report and give an indication of how likely you are to repay your debts. If you want your individual score you can purchase it though this site as well.

by definition...your credit score is an overall rating given to you by the 3 major credit bureaus (TransUnion, Equifax, Experian), each with their own internal method of evaluating the information reported to them. It takes into account all factors of credit worthiness (IE: timely payments, debt - credit limit ratios, etc) and assesses a number between 350 (lowest score) and 850 (highest score).
Generally, an excellent credit rating is considered to be 720+. The lower the score...the less options there are available for financing and the higher the rates / fees.
When qualifying for financing there are things that can be done to improve scores quickly (such as payments towards credit card debt), many times within a week and with enough score improvement to increase your credit worthiness.
Hope this helps.

Read all about it at Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Credit_report
You can get free credit reports once a year or if you are denied credit at:
http://www.annualcreditreport.com
One of those 3 will also offer to add the credit score for about $6.00 . If you go buy a car or house, it's smart to know your score.
Best wishes,
pup

I agree with www.annualcreditreport.com. But obtaining your 3 scores are not free. Only the report is free.
www.truecredit.com and www.mycreditinform.com are also good. Truecredit is run by Transunion, one of the 3 bureaus, and MyCreditInform is run by Experion, another of the 3.

Go to freecreditreport.com. By law, you're entitled to one free report a year. You can print it from your computer, and it will give you your credit score.
