appreciated my spiritual heritage.

BUt I noticed what this YA girl posted (herecomesthesun) today, and want to know if any single sisters noticed this as well. When I was single, I used to feel like some single brothers thought ALL the single sisters were desperate. I had one tell me "we outnumber you, so you have to take what you can get"...

Why do you feel like this? This was discouraging to me when I was single, and if i hadn't found my current BF/potential fiance, I'd of just rather be single than faced this attitude.

What a sad reasoning.
! corinthians 7 exhorts each individual to carry on faithfully. that those who remain single are able to do more in the service of God and his congregation.
There is nothing wrong with marraige . the person who made the comment ' there is more of us so you have to take what you can get "is a fool , or so desperate to be with the one that he said it too that he sayss something to apply pressure. tragic
why not wait till the new system like i hope to where i can hook up with a " PERFECT ' partner.

Hi,well we know that women recognise their spiritual need more than men.And women are also more submissive.Yes,there are many more sisters in the truth than brothers.Scirpture says we are a 'large army'.
I havent seen the comment you are refering to.But unfortunately Satan is infilltrating even the Christian congregations and because we live in the world we cant help but have worldly thoughts and ideas.
I am a single older sister(not too old!).My worldly marriage failed. But I am leaving things in Jehovahs hands. If I am meant to remarry,I will. One of my favorite scriptures is that Jehovah is 'opening his hand and satisifing the desire of every living thing" - Ps.145:16.
I agree that it does get a little lonely and discouraging from time to time, when you see families together in the truth, but marriage and a partner does not always bring happiness."Trust in Jehovah and do not lean upon your own understanding" christian love

I came into the truth with my now husband and always wondered how singles coped with the courtship thing, I have friends at the moment currently looking for partners and I am glad I am out of it.
it does sometimes seem like they are desperate to find a partner.

As a married brother, I would like to commend you and all my faithful sisters, who have established a wonderful record of service and loyalty to Jehovah.

When "a brother" shows that type of attitude, I would recommend thanking Jehovah for revealing the imperfections of that one, and now you can scratch him off your list.

You know, your question could be answered by almost any faith.
I am a Christian now. But I know what you feel.
I studied with Witnesses for a long time., and very much respect your faith. Sometimes I wish other people would study your faith.
It would be alot easier for people.

It seems that the behavior which is too-typical among imperfect males is also present among those who are working to serve God and imitate Christ.

Remember that even Jesus' twelve closest associates, who formed the first governing body of the Christian congregation, had quite a problem with humility. Don't give up on your brothers, please.

(Mark 9:34-35) On the road they had argued among themselves who is greater. So [Jesus] sat down and called the twelve and said to them: “If anyone wants to be first, he must be last of all and minister of all.”

(Matthew 18:1) The disciples came near to Jesus and said: “Who [among us] really is greatest in the kingdom of the heavens?”

(Luke 9:46-48) A reasoning entered among them as to who would be the greatest of them. 47 Jesus, knowing the reasoning of their hearts, took a young child, set it beside him 48 and said to them: “...he that conducts himself as a lesser one among all of you is the one that is great.”

(Luke 22:24-26) There also arose a heated dispute among them over which one of them seemed to be greatest. 25 But [Jesus] said to them: “The kings of the nations lord it over them, and those having authority over them are called Benefactors. 26 You, though, are not to be that way.
