Sometimes I do depending on the mood. Sometimes when I eat peanut M&Ms I open the bag on the kitchen table before we have dinner with my mom. She tells me to wait till after finishing dinner to eat them. My mom has the same dessert as me and she also opens them and eats one or two of them before dinner. Once, I opened my Russell Stover mini-box of candy 2 hours before dinner in the living room and forget to eat one then when I moved the candy to the kitchen I ate one of them. My mom said it is okay sometimes.

It varies depending on the situation. When I eat Kid Cuisine meals, I eat a little pudding first, then put the candy sprinkles and then eat the meal then finish the pudding. Sometimes after putting the sprinkles on the pudding, I eat more of the pudding before eating the main meal. With cookies, I eat some of the cookie before dinner and then enjoy the rest after finishing dinner. If I have cake, I have to put some on my dinner plate and have to have a bite before dinner. Sometimes my cake is almost gone when I eat my dinner. When I have M&M’s it is a different story. I open the bag of M&M’s and put one or two on the dinner table while I fix dinner. Then when I get my dinner, the M&M’s on the table go back into the bag. With Russell Stover and Whitman mini-candy boxes, I open them before dinner and wait until after dinner to eat one of them. One exception was when I was at college and was waiting a long time for my dinner, I ate two pieces of candy then when I ate my dinner, I finished my candy. At Subway, I always eat my cookie before eating my chips and sandwich.

One time I was having a pasta dinner and I was waiting for the pasta I opened my Valentine's Day box of candy and I had to have a piece of candy right there. The dinner was good and ate the rest of the candy. Now dessert usually comes first.

Really it probably aint the healthiest thing to do but truly dessert isn't meant to be healthy.

My Grandpa Sawyer always told us kids to eat dessert first because a lot could happen between dinner & dessert. So go for it...who cares what everyone else does ;-).

When I went to a Mexican restaurant when I was on vacation, I was sooo hungry I ordered some sopopillas with my meal. I asked the waitress to bring them out before my meal and she kept asking me if I was sure. I said yes because where I come from, sopopillas are just fried dough that is served with honey or jam and topped with powdered sugar. Well, at this restaurant, they serve them with vanilla ice cream and coated with honey and powdered sugar and whipped cream. Needless to say, I don't think I ate much of my lunch.
Every once in a while, it's okay to eat your dessert first because you have more room to enjoy whatever you are eating...

Candies are not exactly an ideal dessert if a desert at all. Desserts for me would be a fruit platter, or any one kind of fruit, apple pie with custard, trifles of all kinds, plus many other examples. Desserts are nice to have in the afternoon when you feel like a snack.

No, I am not much of a dessert person. My wife, however, eats her dessert first, and it used to drive me crazy, but I have learned to deal with it. Now, when we go to a nice restaurant, I order her dessert up front - the waiter or waitress looks at me like I am crazy, but they comply to keep her happy. They all look at her, and say, Ah ha, she's pregnant! Enough said about that.
