It isn't just a man thing.
Some men are sh*theads and can't form sentences when under pressure. Others can talk openly and honestly about anything. Obviously you choose sh*theads!

Maybe he feels uncomfortable with the question. Some men don't like to talk about relationships. He might think that you are rushing things, or maybe he doesn't feel the same way you do.

Because us men like to avoid conflict and confrontation...we think that if we avoid the question it will go away or you'll realize that it's useless to ask that question and hopefully not bring it up again.

Um im a dude i can help the reason is because we dont know the answer and we dont try and answer it becasue we might look dumb. Or it might be because hes fake and trying to hide somthing.

it is better to keep your mouth shut and let people think you are stupid than to open your mouth and prove them right. or it could be possible that he does not know how to express his feelings into words. or he is guilty of whatever you are accusing him of and is at a loss for words because he got caught. or he could be innocent and doe not want to participate in a confrontation. or maybe he feels you don't listen anyway. or ...............
