There is this girl at work I have fancied for ages but i'm a bit shy to ask her out because I don't know if she's single. I don't know her very well. She works on a different floor but when I walk past her desk I always smile and she smiles back. We usually talk if we bump into each other. She's happy to talk to me and we have a laugh but I don't read anything into that because she's like that with everyone. Main problem is finding out if she's seeing anyone else. If I knew she isn't, then I'd probablies have the courage to ask her out.

You need to know a lil more about her so just ask her, if you never ask you will never know, id steer clear of the 'gossip' because before you knwo it will be round the whole place you tried it on with this girl and if she has a b/f you could be made to feel 'small' having ppl talking about you.

aww well just ask her if she want coffee at lunch or something small like that so she doent think ur being too pushy and it wont make it that obvious. when u get chattin u will find out more. make bigger suggestions like 'dinner maybe' then make your move. if she isnt single then just be good friends like usual then wait till she breaks up if she does shes open for u! good luck!

do what my boyfriend did, arrange a works night out and say partners are welcome, if she's on her own then pluck up the courage to ask her out or just tell her you like her. it worked for my fella we're still together 2 years on just try your luck
