If you will start working your own wrecks caused by HUB (head up butt), stop stealing, stop dealing drugs, stop robbing innocent elderly people, start handling your own domestic fights, start watching your own businesses at night so they don't get broken into, start going into houses where there is a barricaded subject armed to the teeth and on drugs holding a woman or a child as a hostage, stop whining about your neighbors dog and kids, handle your own identity theft cases, and stop calling us to raise your kids that took you a lifetime to screw up. How about that is that enough?

I can understand this question, and thank you for the opportunity here to express my own thoughts.

Now, to take care of this cop here...
I've never called the cops, rcedencarpetcleaning. It's obvious to me that you are at least as unhappy as I am. You are not a happy cop. Do I have a vendetta? You bet!

To everyone else here at Yahoo! Answers: avoid Reardan, Washington, and this officer at all cost. Five years on the job has taken it's toll on his social health, and you will probably regret meeting him.

I think that cops should get more salary increases and a reduced work load, if only to improve their attitude about their job.

What most people don't understand about police officers is that the citizen to officer ratio on average is about 150,000 to one and in some cities it is even worse. On average over 250 officers per city are assaulted by citizens every year with some resulting in serious injury. Police spend their entire day running around the city answering calls for crimes and accidents, domestic disputes and burglar alarms plus a plethora of other incidents. If I were a police officer I wouldn't settle for anything less than 200K and hopefully I won't get killed by some deranged citizen on crack with an outstanding warrant and a gun under the front seat. It's the same people that moan and groan about how they hate cops are the first to yell when something happens "Call The Police"!!!!!

If you're looking at if from the taxpayer's perspective, it may not deliver the benefits hoped for. Take away or severely reduce law enforcement and other crimes go up. As they go up, taxpayer funds are often necessary to pay for the results of crime - damage, injuries, lawsuits, etc.

If you're looking at it from the perspective of simply not liking cops and wishing to get back at them for something, then probably even a 100% cut wouldn't be pleasing.

You might have included a few details. Is this being seriously proposed, or are you just feeling PO'ed at cops these days? Because I can see a 50% reduction in force -- all they'd have to do is end the drug war -- but the guys who put their lives on the line to protect us should not get a cut in pay. I just wish they'd find something better to do than bust people for smoking medicinal herbs.

Stop being so selfish, people like you yell at me every day for trying to keep peace. I constantly feel as if I must babysit the public. Why do you even post stuff like this.. to get attention, because you were breaking the law and got caught, or simply because your an *** hole. Don't ever call the cops again..

Ha! 50% paycut?
In CT, they get 4.5% cost of living raises, promotions, all the overtime they want to work, starting rookie pay in the mid $40's, and all the protection from Internal Affairs they could ask for

Even with that pay cut, they'd be in the gravy in no time.

Not bad for candidates that do not qualify if they are too smart...

I think that is absolutely horrible. By cutting salsries of polic officer this country will become more like Russia(police taking bribes in public). In Most third world countries police take bribes for simple every day things like crossign the street. By one account in Nigeria, One police officier charged 20 naira or the equivalent of nickel in U.S. for every person crossing the street. If the U.S. is not careful more Officer will turn to bribery just pay bills

What are you some kind of nut job! Cops don't deserve a cut in pay, on the contrary!
