When someone is a non-believer, that means they dont believe in heaven or hell. Is that so hard to understand. Threating a non-believer with hell is borderline mentally retarded. You might as well tell people if they dont believe the same as you they will get gored in the back by a unicorn. It really has the same effect. Has christianity ripped you of all ability to communicate? When people ask YOU a question they are looking for your opinion on the subject, not a bible quote. I thought only children needed this advise but I guess im wrong. If you want to communicate with someone you have to understand where their coming from.
If someone doesnt know about sports and ask for the score, dont talk to them about how the zone defense is unable to pick up the tight end on the stong side. If people ask for an opinion dont give them a bible quote. If people say they dont believe in hell, dont tell them their going there. Be normal and talk like normal people for christ sake

I absolutely agree!! I don't get that either when they threaten us with something we obviously don't believe in. Threatening us, Demeaning us, lecturing us, quoting the bible, does nothing to change are minds if anything it furthers my belief in my own path.

If your lawyer "threatens" you by advising you that you will be sent to prision if you break a certain law, then is your lawyer "disconnected with reality" simply because he should know that you do not believe that either prision or the law exists?

If you don't want a Christian's advice then don't ask for it. Christians are simply stating what they believe. If you take it as a "threat", then obviously you must believe in Hell too. Otherwise, you would just think it as a harmless superstition, as I do when people warn me that my actions may bring bad luck (somehow, I do not see a good natured warning as a threat -- especally since I do not believe in luck).

1. Christians "can't" threaten hell on someone.
2. Your free will here on earth dictates your final destination eternally.

I choose heaven. If others choose hell, that's their choice.

If normal is like people going to hell, I will choose otherwise.

nope we are not disconnected from reality and we are not threatening anyone with Hell it is called a WARNING!!! like warning your house is on fire...get out now..if you see someone in danger you do all that you can to save them right? so if I see you are in danger and you are unaware of the danger is it not MY responsibility to tell you of the danger..SURE and its your choice rather to act on the knowledge you had just received..but if I go though my life never warning anyone of hell then your blood would be on my hands.

Well said. Reality, courtesy or understanding rarely come into the picture when dealing with most christians.

I frequently find being threatened with something I don't believe in convinces me of the valadity of another's arguments.
