Probably because I read somewhere that it can be transfered to the groin area when you put your pants on, ie., feet touching pants as you pull them up.

No it can not transfer to your hands but your hands can have some of the athletes foot fungus on them and transfer to other warm areas on your body, just try to shower 2 times a day and keep sometype of medicine on your foot.....like bluestar ointment for instance......hope you get better soon, good luck.

yes it can. when u trim your nails do not use the same tools on ur fingernails. and after using the clippers soak them in a water and bleach solution. keep ur feet clean and dry between toes thourghly. use foot powder in your socks 2 help[ absorb morsiture. u can also soak ur feet in a mild bleach solution with water. then use lamisil at cream as directed. u can get it at walmart. use ir religiously, and ur alhletes foot will clear up. always keep feet dry. disinfect bath tub with clorox clean-up. good luck.

Yes it can, in the same place (the webs between the fingers).
Don't touch your feet unless you have to and make sure to wash your hands thoroughly after you do.
If your hands are prone to sweating some talcum powder between the fingers could help. Especially zinc talcum powder.
