A Septoplasy performed by a broad certified surgeon is a safe operation. However with anything, certain risk, apply, such as hospital acquired nosicomial infection. Plain terms a infection you get from bacteria in the hospital. Also, hemorrhage is a possible side effect. Anesthesia also carries risk> But the good news is the benefits usually out weigh the negative. Septoplasty will leave you with eye orbits bruised, nose bridge bruised. This will usually subside completely within a week or two. I'm a Health Care Professional, the only side effect I have ever seen is the bruising, sometimes it's pretty bad, but it usually goes away pretty fast. Thanks for the opportunity to respond to your question. Good Luck, you'll be fine and do great.

Septoplasty is designed to straighten a deviated septum, and should if all goes well, improve air flow thru the obstructed nasal passage. As with all surgeries, there are risks, but this one is a fairly common procedure.

Yes! I had a complete Rhinoplasty. Tumor on the right side, deviated septum on the left. A HUGE ordeal but once done and recovered; better breathing, no snoring, maybe even better looking.

It is safe, but I have heard that it often doesn't have very much effect on nasal breathing.
