You should have no problem highlighting your hair.My hair is red naturally and I usually have my hair highlighted. The stylist will use bleach on your hair as you cannot lift colour with colour.
If you find this is too bright, you can then have some brown low lights worked in through your hair.
It will be fine I would have no problem doing your hair like this for you.It will be nice.
Just make sure you tell the hairdresser exactly what way you want the highlights.

If red hair is bleached to put blond highlights, the highlights will be really blonde. But the rest will still be the same light red colour - should be interesting!

Definatley cos to get blonde, brown hair has to go through a stage of red. If you`re starting at red it can only go one way that`s blonde! You got it right! Blondes have more fun baby!!!!!!!!

the bleached highlights will be as blonde as the stylist choses. they can be from golden blonde to pale blonde. however, the previously colored hair will remain the same color outside of the foils unless that hair is colored also. this can easily be done if you want to get rid or the red.good luck.

Any hair coloring product with bleach in it the color is going to change. You need to decide if its going to look good. Red is not a bad color for Fall weather. I like the color red for hair.

Stylists at your salon will know best.
I sometimes go for a consultation before my actual appointment so thr stylist knows in advance what to do.
Even phone them up and explain. They might be able to give you some advice.

if you are going to a good salon then itll be fine , sounds like you didnt leave your hair dye on long enough for it to go light red ,, have faith in the hairdresser , if your not happy , dont leave until you are , good luck .

just go for it. If it looks bad then just dye it brown again. Hair experimentation is great.
