can your property like a house be seized in the state of illinois if you owe back child support in another state.

You would have to own a significant amount for the court to order a forced sale. It is more likely they would place a lien on the home. This does not force a sale, but it guarantees that when the house is sold, the child support is paid before anyone else gets any money.

I have never heard of back child support being effected through ones property but many states are different, I do know that one can have their drivers lic. suspended and their taxes held up and given to the custodial parent. And if the non-custodial parent that decides to stop working and try to draw unemployment i do know this unemployment check will be sent to the parent with the child. But as for property being seized to me that would not be fare, Now Jail time if caught one can serve time. Take Care

Depends on the amount but back child support is taken through ur taxes every year. But as time goes by ur licsence can be taken and u wil be accuring intrest on ur support. Better start paying dont forget wage garnishment

Very possible. They would have to go to an Illinois court and get a judgement.
