Shampoo and water.

I'm afraid that I go by the "expensive" route.

I utilize some natural shampoo, conditioner and enzyme treatment to clean off all of the buildup from commercial grade shampoos conditioners and hair sprays.

Then, 2x per week, I use a laser comb. The brand I use is made by Lexington HairMax. It is very expensive - $600 or so. It makes the hair of a late 40's year old silky and shiny like a 6 yr old. Better to manage, and thickens up as well.

That's my offer to your question. If you want DETAILED info on all of the products I use - then email me thru yahoo connection and I'll send my email that I send to friends to you. It's a program for regrowth of hair because of hair loss.

hair styles:

getting highlights, cutting ur hair (layers, side bangs, whatever looks good on u)

braids- 1 or 2, french braids (search how to french braid on Q search), side braid
ponytails- half, side, pigtails
buns- loose and messy
gel- scrunch it
iron- straighten it, curl it, crimp it
accessories- headbands, scarves, cute clips, cute bows, bandanas.
hair part- part it on the side
bangs- clip them up

here are some suggestions to get wavy/curly hair. i havent tried some of them, but i ve heard that they work-
curl with iron or rollers
put some hairspray in ur hair before going to bed and the tossing and moving will create random waves
braid ur hair and when u remove it there will be waves
put some defining product in ur hair and keep twirling it around ur finger. then, finger comb gently through to separate the waves
use sea salt spray or surf spray. sea salt will give really pretty beach waves
scruch it with gel

more tips:
invest in a good conditioner/shampoo for ur hair type
dont iron ur hair too much
dont blow dry so much. try to let it naturally dry
dont use a rubber band in ur hair
shampoo only like every other day or about 3 times a week
rise ur hair before going in the pool and afterwards
do not always put it in a ponytail
dont brush it when wet
dont rub with ur towel, just blot
get it trimmed every couple of months

good luck!

i have really thick and curly hair, so it gets oily alot. usually i put conditioner on my hair when its dry. I leave it on for 15 minutes- this takes away unwanted oils and frizz. Then I shampoo my hair and condition it. Afterwards, I put curl-enhancing products in it and blow dry, or I let it towel dry and then straighten it with a Chi. If you use a Chi, make sure you have a protector spray on your hair because a Chi heats up in 7 seconds.

pretty as in shiny and not frizzy? use good shampoos that don't overclean your hair (that makes it dull). they have frizz-free serum at stores that can make your hair not frizzy. make sure you comb your hair like 20 times every day, and your hair should look great!
