okay i went out with this guy 4 times and the last time was a total blow and he took it outta proportion when i dumped him and now he hates me well it has been about 4 months now and i just don't know but he usually is callin me a whore in the halls and all that ****! and he punched me once, but today he was nice and he told me i looked really pretty in my picture so i am sooooooooooooooooo confused!! well help me out plz

Two ideas come to mind...
1) someone took him aside and said, "If I hear you call that girl a whore one more time... I'm going beat you into next week, you understand me... Are we clear?"
2) he's trying to gain your trust so that you'll open up to him and then he'll dump you to embarrass and hurt you.
Accept any compliments... However, don't allow yourself to open to him (give him information that he could use against you later)...
