Index finger, though some people look like they could do with a shovel to get further up their noses with the way they poke about in them.

Well, that's a funny question. lol. Most of the time I've seen people use either their thumb or their index finger but i've never seen anyone use their other fingers apart from them, oh but there was about once or twice where i've seen people use the little finger.

Most peoples index fingers are the optimum size to fit neatly in their nostril.
But admittedly, the little finger is needed on the occasions when your bogies are a little higher up then usual.

Do you know how long it would take to commision a survey to find out 'Which finger most people.......'
Personally i use the index finger in me left hand but i do have a small thumb which is particularly useful for stuburn 'just at the front of the nostril' bogeys.
I once tried to close one of my nostrils with one hand while i 'snotted' the contents of the other out (see sports) but i just got snot on me chin....wouldn't recomend that!

I use different fingers for different parts of the nose and the consitency of the snot. A little finger is good for the deep seated bogie, whilst the middle finger is good for a quick harvest at low level. Whilst driving these rules may change according to driving conditions

My pinkie.
It's thinner so it can reach further up in there.
And if you allow the nail to grow a bit, it makes a very usefull nasal picking scoop.
Now the real question is.....When you pick it, do you eat it?
