I mean, mamey sapotes, quenepas (a.k.a. spanish limes), guavas, mangosteens, durian fruit, breadfruit, rose apples, etc. I know they sell both fresh and frozen fruit in Florida, but there are almost none of these fruits for sale here in San Diego, even though some can be grown here! I guess the demand isn't high enough for any profit. Do I have to go to Puerto Rico just to taste these?!?

Ohh, mangosteens I think will be verrrry hard to find.

Durian - just a warning, it's pretty horrible, in my opinion - you can buy fresh at the Ranch 99 Market in Clairemont Mesa. I think you can find guava there too, but I'm not sure if my memory serves me correctly. I'm sure you can get the durian there, though.

You can also buy durian, mangosteen, and rambutan online here:

You can buy guavas, mamey sapotes, and "uniq fruit" (sorry, not on your list, but sounded interesting) online here:

Mmm, breadfruit is highly perishable, so I think you may be hard pressed to find that one even online. I know you can buy them fresh in Hawaii, but I don't know of anyone in Hawaii that ships to San Diego, sorry.

Gerry's Fruit Bowl on Marsh Creek Rd in Brentwood, CA sells rose apples in the summer; check with them to see if they'll ship to you (925-634-3155 ), but I think rose apples are out of season (they were in season in August).

Hope this helps...
