Many Christians do. That's why religion is so dangerous.

Because you are not giving them "their version" of the facts. Remember for every truth that science has uncovered the christians have come up with some ludicrious "other" fact to refute it....even the law of gravity some years back. As to why they won't check it out themselves...well that is where the laziness comes in. It is easier to be spoonfed a lie than to have to dig for the truth. Also, attacking others is part of the christian religion, from their leaders in the public eye right down to the one's on yahoo. It is as if they wear kevlar on their heads to prevent new information from entering in. Willfull ignorance at it's best (or worse as the case may be).

I don't think that's necessarily true. I think they're just so immersed in and indoctrinated by the bible that they're unable to see beyond it. Some of them refuse to see that there may be another answer to the questions. I say some of them, not all, because there are a few who are slightly open minded. To the rest, the bible IS the truth, and no matter how factual and truthful you might be, you can never make them think it's untrue. It's unfortunate, but that's how it is.

What is this? Slam a Christian day?
As a Christian, I take exception these questions and some of the responses. If you were to make a statement to me and I was able to prove you right, then I would accept your word. However, if you were to make a statement to me and I was able to prove you wrong, I would NOT accuse you of lying; I would simply say you were mistaken and provide my evidence in support of my claim.
Christianity IS NOT dangerous; it is simply a series of beliefs and faiths based on the word in the Bible. Having said that there a plenty of hypocrits out there who give not just us but every other religion and faith out there a bad name. They are the ones who are dangerous.

The religion is built upon lies and untruths used to manipulate the ignorant masses. Now that the masses are no longer ignorant their lies have become transparent. But some people are so blinded by the need to belong and be part of it that they wouldn't recognize the truth if it slapped them in the face.

I know what you mean.
I was asked how I felt about God ( my feeings ) mind you .
I told the Christian exactly how I felt and how I came to those conclusions , ( god ,prayer, heaven and hell ) and I was told " I " was lying .
That person made the mistake asking me in front of their child.
They told me i was wrong in answering with the child there .
Why did they ask me then?
They did not know my beliefs at the time.

hi, you are what you are, and i am what i am, but you on the other hand know everything as fact, there is only one fact you deny in whole and that the Holy Bible is not true, but it is the truth, you really should reconsider your path; listen up dodo, there is not one lie in it. Your demise will be shift, lucky you, but hell? That’s the burning question you will deny too. Believe me the devil likes self-appointed fools like you; hells got legions of your type.

Yeah, happens very regularly. Just because they're Christian doesn't mean their elevator goes all the way to the top.

As far as Christians are concerned, if what you say is different than what they think, you are wrong, a liar, and will burn in hell.
Can you imagine life when you are that close minded?
Gotta suck, eh?
Well, I suppose if you don't know any better, it can't be too bad...
Hope this helps :)

Just because it's on the Internet you big dummy doesn't mean its true. I follow the Bible, I believe everything in the Bible, I live by the Bible and not you or anybody on this earth, or on this Internet is gonna tell me that what I know and what I feel isn't true. He is the Way, The Truth, and The Life.

it's not quite as automatic and unthinking as you describe it, but it can be pretty close.
If you postulate Satan as your enemy, full of traps and snares, then you can blame him for anything coming in your face which doesn't fit with your notion of truth.
If I can convince myself that Satan said it, then (i) I can block it out and (ii) I have to go save the person who said it, who is clearly in Satan's grip.
I don't think Christians are full of hate, but they can be so closed-minded that their behaviour looks almost undistinguishable from it sometimes.
