i cant get my 89 thunderbird to shift smooth. i have replace the motor mounts, trans mount, fluid, filter, and even tried additives...what else is left?

I hate to be short but it is NOW time for a good transmission mechanic to look at it. He may be able to make a couple of adjustments and smooth it ouit. Good luck. Pops

your modulator valve is made for that purpose . it connects to the lower end of the transmission it is vacumn controlled. what it does is when its time for the tranny to shift into another gear it keeps it from shifting hard . have that replaced and you will be fine. the part isnt over 15 bucks at the most.

89 thunderbird, dont spend more money on something you cant fix, it is a waste of money.. ready for the junkyard bro

vacumn modulator or maybe there is an adjustment on the downshift cable good luck call a tranny shop

try adjusting the transmission cable if that fails go buy a tranny

take it to a tranny shop tell them what you have done and they will be able to help you, sounds like a vacum modulator to me.

FLUSH OR REPLACE TRANS COOLER WITH AUXILLARY COOLER.
