Need advice?

My mom is having a historectimy (spelled wrong sorry!) and i dont know what to do to make things easy for her just in her daily routine.. can anyone give me some advice?

mt mother in law had a hysterectomy last year she was really sore for first few weeks but managed to go to the toilet and wash by herself.it was things like getting her a paper or going food shopping that she found difficult in the first few weeks.dont know if you live with her or if not stay nr her ?i used to call mine the night before to see if she needed anything from shops or help with laundry ect.
