Take the plane. Take along a good book or some magazines to read because of the long trip.
Put you mind at ease as flying is safer then both trains or cars.
Fear of flight usually only lasts for a few minutes after your on the plane and if you've been on a helicopter ride and half ways enjoyed it you won't have any problems flying as it's totally more comfortable. Put your mind at ease. Do it and enjoy the trip. Nothing to it. Also look at it another way. Three hours is a skip hop and a jump compared to three uncomfortable days on a train listening to clickitity clack for hundreds of miles and rocking back and forth sideways plus the high price lousy meals you can expect these days on a train.
. I've traveled to California both ways and I'll take the flight any day over taking the train again which never seems to be on time either.

Plane. Don't worry - a 3 hour plane ride is nothing. Bring a pack of cards, some music - watch the on air movie. 3 hours is no big deal. try flying 8 hours. Plus, don't even worry about terrorists because the flight is inside the country, so there shouldn't be any terrorists to worry about. and 9/11 was FIVE years ago.

Go on the plane. Take some sleeping medication so you will be asleep for the whole flight and when you wake up you'll be there without having had a terrible, fright-filled trip. BUT if you're just too scared to go on the plane, or medication doesn't appeal to you, the train is good to. Maybe you could bring a friend who would come with you so your mom wouldn't be worried? Then your friend could just take a plane back home. :)

I would go on a plane, because there are actually more train crashes than plane crashes and anyway planes are officially the safest way to travel and to be fair i would much rather take the 3 hours flight as opposed to the 3 day train journey, it'll be cheaper to. Just don't get worked up, sit back and enjoy it, its fun honestly.

Fly out there. I am a C-5 Galaxy Instructor Pilot and licensed Airline Transport Pilot. If you have any specific questions about flying (often times peoples' fears of flying is due to what they don't know about it) then feel free to IM or send me a message. Have fun, talk to you soon.

FLY!!! It's not scary at all. You are more likely to be bit by a shark and struck by lightning than you are to have an accident in an airplane. You'll be on one of the coolest things in the world. For me flying is one of the ultimate things to do. I look forward to any time I get to. Just kick back, relax, and enjoy a bag of peanuts.

i like to commute via prepare, it incredibly is such an adventure! i'm the kind of man or woman who strikes up conversations with random strangers. i admire assembly new human beings and being so cramped and uncomfortable pushes you into human beings and provides something to speak approximately, somewhat sensible once you're separated out of your friends. i admire my prepare pals :D p.s. i'm sixteen, no longer an overexcited 10 365 days previous!
